Louenhide in Tasmania: A Travel Guide

As we look back on our Tasmanian trip, during what has been some of the hottest days of 2023 so far, we are reminded of the soft grey skies, luscious green hills, and brisk morning air; fresh, invigorating and a welcome relief to these humid February days.
We have learnt over the years to plan our photoshoots in matching climates as much as possible. November in Tasmania made for the ideal destination, with gloomy skies, rain, and a sharp breeze – the perfect reason to don a jumper and jacket!
For destination photoshoots we travel as a team, plane seats booked shoulder to shoulder. It gives us a chance to talk turkey and get comfortable with one another before the camera comes out.
We’re not a regular fashion business with professional models, we prefer to use friends, team members and our founders, Lou and Heidi, to tell the every woman, every day story. It makes for a lovely and familiar experience for our whole team too; the ‘models’ share clothes and style tips, plus working with the same friends means we can pick up where we left off, from shoot to shoot.
When the day is over, Helen, our Wholesale Account Manager, mum and sometimes chef, whips up a delicious meal we can all enjoy together. Miso Roasted Salmon Poke Bowls, never-ending cheesboards and a classic Pumpkin soup with crusty bread are what keep us soldiering on to ‘get the shot’.
The Granary was such a special place to visit, and we absolutely loved capturing our latest collection here. The rich patina of the worn sandstone blocks provided the perfect backdrop for our new range, while towering hedgerows, rambling rosebushes and thick wisteria drew in the quintessential natural elements of this stunning location, where both home and landscape live in harmony.
If you’ve been planning a Tassie trip, or the ideas just been sown, we’ve rounded up a quick guide on our favourite places to stay and what bags to take you there!
